So long as people want to stay looking and feeling younger longer, to have a fuller and fitter life and to have treatment without any possibility of side effects, the future for Bio-Nutritional Therapy is assured. General medicine is about to move out of the dark ages of drug therapy and enter the enlightened age of Bio-Nutritional natural and safe therapies without unwanted side effects.

Great strides are already being made in the fields of organ and tissue replacements. As we begin to understand more about human Genetics, and how to harness such knowledge for practical application, so will great, new, hitherto undreamed of cures emerge which will rid mankind of so many currently accepted hereditary diseases.

Man is a biological being made up of some forty trillion single cells, all coordinating with each other, to form the total complex human being. It is because man is biological that the future of Bio-Nutritional medicine is assured. We are not plants, we are not a massive chemical laboratory, we are a biological living structure, and it is from this vital area that our future health must be controlled.

Our diets are already better; our environment is being tackled and we are living more active lives much longer. Very soon drugs as we now know them will be a thing of the past and many more natural substances will replace them. More attention to preventative medicine will be the norm.

In spite of all this progress, we suffer from more cancer today than ever before, more degenerative disease than ever before, more heart disease, more drug addiction, more alcoholism, and more stress-related disease.

Our hospitals are bursting at the seams, waiting lists are too long, and have been for years.  The drug industry is working overtime to fulfil the needs of our mentally and physically sick society. We have more mental institutions than ever before.

Something is radically wrong. We are living longer, which is a great achievement, yet we are suffering more. Many within the protected confines of the medical establishment will say "but there are more people alive than ever before". The question is whether or not these people who are alive are actually living.

I have already said that if you have a heart attack and are near a hospital you have a better than even chance of surviving. This is a great achievement without a doubt, but I would like to see better service and a better quality of life before that point to avoid the heart attack happening.

I was amused when I read that in ancient China, doctors were only paid when the patient was well. In today's world there would be a rash of bankrupt doctors. I suppose it would be more in keeping with the state of modern health that the doctor should only be paid if the patient is alive. We would then have a preponderance of wealthy doctors because there is no doubt that with the drugs available today we are being kept alive. But what of the quality of that life?

Given the choice of spending the last twenty or so years in constant pain, and having to rely totally on other people for even the simplest everyday things - like feeding, bathing or dressing, not to mention shopping or simply going out - or to be able to have a full life with all your faculties, and your independence, then from my own research most patients would choose a shorter but better innings.

Prevention must be the answer to good health, man takes more care of his motor car and other machines than he does his own health and this is a tragic state of affairs.  The little time spent by both the patient and the medical profession on this vital area of preventative medicine is appalling. Consider that of twenty million operations carried out in America each year some two million were most likely unnecessary. In a world where so little real attention is being paid to the quality of life and to preventing disease I have no doubt that Bio-Nutritional Therapy and future developments of it will have an important part to play.

There is already a great change in attitude towards Bio-Nutritional Therapy and similar techniques. From my own experience and discussions with other general practitioners they too would like to see a change, and to be given the tools to improve not only the length of their patients' lives, but also the quality of their own lives.

While I have been writing this book, a tranquilliser called Halcion was removed from sale in England because of its many side effects. I think this is only the beginning. Why after all should we put up with dangerous substances when there are safe alternatives?

Bio-Nutritional Therapy is one way: it would be foolish and arrogant to claim that it is the only way. It has been an important help to many thousands of people who have sought "More Life To Their Years...and More Years to their Lives" and to "Look and Feel Younger Longer."

Now with the addition of the Bio-Nutritional Therapy food supplements, more and more people will have access to the valuable and safe preparations which have been the subject of half a century of development.
