Advantra-Z is made from the extract of citrus aurantium, also known as the Chinese herb bitter orange. Traditionally, the Chinese used bitter orange for chest and stomach ailments. More recently, a need for an effective weight loss supplement to replace ephedra (which was banned by the FDA in 2004) prompted research into a new use for bitter orange.( The Federal ban on Ephedra was overturned in 2005, only to be reinstated in 2006)
Advantra-Z - The Premier Weight Loss Supplement
The product which emerged from this research has been named Advantra-Z, and it can be found as an active ingredient, usually the main ingredient, in dietary supplements for weight loss. Unlike ephedra-containing products, there have been no ill side effects for blood pressure observed with Advantra-Z. But what is notable about Advantra-Z is that it contains properties that are ephedrine-like in their fat-burning ability. You can read more in the technical article, but what really matters is that Advantra-Z changes the way your body metabolizes fat, and the result can be weight loss.
Advantra-Z is patented for fat burning (thermogenesis). Studies at the McGill Nutrition and Food Science Centre at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and the Georgetown University Medical Center have showed Advantra-Z's safety and effectiveness. In fact, the Georgetown study stated that Advantra Z may be "...the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra" (See note below)
Does Advantra Z work for everyone?
The technical information on Advantra Z states that it has been shown to increase fat-burning and speed up the metabolism of some people. Since every body is unique and responds in various ways to supplementation, it would be impossible to say that Advantra-Z would be effective for everyone. However, it has been shown to be remarkably effective for many people, especially when they "work with the product" by avoiding over-eating and staying active.
As a final note, it is important to choose carefully when selecting an Advantra-Z containing weight loss products. Some products combine Advantra-Z with other substances that may not be as safe, and without government regulation for dietary supplements you can not always be sure that the ingredients listed on the label of a product are actually contained in them.
